Studying at RIC

higher_studiesHigher Studies

The RIC strives to create, sustain and improve a conducive and productive academic environment for both students and academic staff.

The RIC conducts teaching for several degree and diploma courses of the University of London as full-time and part-time study programmes as well as for the RIC's own foundation and ancillary courses.

Students are able to select their study course from a wide range of options according to their qualifications, requirements and convenience.

The students spend much less to live and study in Colombo as compared to what is spent by a student in London or any other major city in the world.

While the Sri Lankan students who do not leave the country for undergraduate studies enjoy the comfort of their home, the foreign students feel as if they are at home, enjoying the warmth of Sri Lankan hospitality.

Students

Generally, the undergraduate students of the RIC represent mostly the Sri Lankans, although there is a sharp increase in the share of foreign students in the recent past.

higher_studiesThe local student population is multi-cultural. As the RIC undergraduates represent a mixed community, they learn together, respect each other and, strive to promote social harmony.

Performance

The RIC has maintained a record of excellent pass rates and class rates each year. During the pass 5 years, over 95 per cent of the undergraduates, who sat the final exam, passed the degree. The share of students who obtained the degree with a First or Second (upper) class has gradually risen as high as 30 per cent in the recent past.

In terms of academic knowledge, soft skills and positive attitudes, RIC produces globally competitive graduates. In the local and global job markets as well as in postgraduate studies in the local and international universities, RIC graduates perform well.
